Jesus is the Light of the World (John 9:5)
Taking God at His Word
crossbible

We have all heard the expression, "You have my Word" which means, you can trust me. As Christians we have the Word of God but do we always trust God ? Taking God at His Word is our message.

Let us pray:

"Our Heavenly Father we thank you so much for your Word and I pray that this message will motivate those who read and reflect on Your Word for it is in Jesus name that we pray, amen.

"When you buy anything from an Automobile to a Television, it makes no difference, you are always instructed to read the manual. If you don't read the manual, you will not have enough knowledge to make it function properly. As Christians, our manual is the Bible and we should read it. There is always something new to learn or confirm.

The apostle Paul searched the scriptures.

Paul grew up an orthodox Jew, his father was a Pharisee and Paul studied under a learned man called, Gamaliel and this was equivalent to going to College for aperson of his time. Paul thought he knew the Scriptures until he met Jesus on the road to damascus and after that meeting, the Scriptures became alive to this former persecutor of Christians. Paul began to Preach that Jesus was the Son of God.

In the Epistle to the Roman's, Paul wrote the fundamentals of the Christian Faith. In the 17th Verse of the very first Chapter of this letter he wrote this about the Gospel, "For the Gospel reveals how God puts people right with Himself: it is through faith from beginning to end. As Scripture says, "The person who is put right with God through Faith shall live." Here ends the reading.

Paul was quoting the Prophet Habakkuk from the 7th Century BC. In the 4th Chapter of his letter to the Romans he enlarged on how important faith is to being a Christian and since Paul was so well versed in the Scriptures he used the example of Abraham who is known as the father of faith and in the 3rd verse of this Chapter he quotes Genesis 15:6 when he wrote, "The Scripture says,"Abraham believed God, and because of his faith God accepted him as righteous."Paul explained that Abraham's standing with God was written for our instruction. When Paul wrote "he (Moses) was accepted as righteous" (because of his faith) he was talking about the key factor in salvation, Faith. Paul explained that we are accepted as righteous, who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord, from death. It was because of our sins that Jesus was given over to die and He was raised to life in order to put us right with God.

Take God's Word for it, we are saved by Grace, through our faith in Jesus Christ, it is not because of anything we have done or will do, lest anyone should boast. If you haven't accepted Jesus Christ yet don't put it off any longer, do it today.
